The event was driven by HNB FINANCE’s ‘Yalu’ Children’s Savings scheme, with the aim of inculcating creativity, inspiration and the habit of saving among young school-going children.
The event started off with an educational art workshop which was conducted by experienced Art Teacher and Instructor Mr Thevarajah Jasinthan, following which children were supplied with all the required drawing materials from HNB FINANCE and allowed to draw on their own, and then given pointers and suggestions to help them improve.
Additionally, a workshop was held for parents in collaboration with Sri Lanka Police, with the presence of WSI Ms Ishani Thilochana, WPC Ms.R. “A critical aspect that is mostly overlooked by adults is the mental wellbeing of their children, and we want to give compassion and uplifting support to children from rural communities to help them understand and strive for greater heights. It is with this thought that we embarked on this initiative, to show these children the value of collective effort which was greatly appreciated and commended,” noted HNB FINANCE PLC Managing Director and CEO Chaminda Prabhath.

The company believes that all children deserve to feel rewarded and acknowledged during these types of initiatives and every child who was present at the celebration received gifts.
HNB FINANCE prides itself on supporting and uplifting the younger generations, as the company believes that they will someday shape the country for the better. Similar to an array of celebrations held in various parts of the island through HNB FINANCE, the company also takes the initiative to facilitate community places of interest such as hospitals and schools, which prove vital for the development and betterment of poverty-stricken children especially from rural communities.
